There were 74 new cases of COVID-19 in the region as of Wednesday’s reporting, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Three counties reported additional deaths from COVID-19 as well. McKean County has reported 20 lives lost, Elk County, 16, and Cameron County, 3. Potter County remains at 13.
McKean County had 42 more cases of COVID-19 for 1,646 total — 1,289 confirmed and 357 probable, with 7,864 negative tests. Elk County had 22 more cases for 1,375 total — 886 confirmed and 489 probable, with 4,538 negative tests. Potter County had 8 more cases for 573 total — 509 confirmed and 64 probable, with 2,428 negative tests. Cameron County had 2 more cases for 142 total — 99 confirmed and 42 probable, with 755 negative tests.
In Bradford, there were 9 more cases for 552 confirmed and 116 probable; Smethport, 4 more cases for 146 confirmed and 11 probable; Port Allegany, 5 more cases for 107 confirmed and 11 probable; Lewis Run, 1 more case for 55 confirmed and 149 probable; Kane, 2 more cases for 197 confirmed and 26 probable; and Rew, 1 more case for 21 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable.
In Elk County, St. Marys had 4 more cases for 416 confirmed and 188 probable; Ridgway had 10 more cases for 172 confirmed and 59 probable; Johnsonburg, 4 more cases for 88 confirmed and 35 probable; Wilcox, 1 more for 26 confirmed and 13 probable; and Kersey, 1 more case for 54 confirmed and 37 probable.
In Potter County, Coudersport had 2 more cases for 210 confirmed and 30 probable; Shinglehouse, 3 more cases for 67 confirmed and 9 probable; Roulette, at least 3 more cases for 27 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable; Austin, 2 more for 34 confirmed and 12 probable.
In Cameron County, Emporium had 86 confirmed and 34 probable cases.
Statewide, there were 8,984 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 631,333.
There are 6,022 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19, double the peak in the spring. Of that number, 1,174 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19.
In Elk County, there were 7 patients hospitalized; in McKean, 16 hospitalized with 3 in intensive care; and in Potter, 10 hospitalized, 3 in intensive care.
As of Wednesday, there were 319 new deaths reported for a total of 15,672 deaths attributed to COVID-19.
In nursing and personal care homes, there were 52,642 resident cases of COVID-19, and 9,587 cases among employees, for a total of 62,229 at 1,468 distinct facilities in all 67 counties. Out of the state’s total deaths, 8,849 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.
In McKean County, 8 facilities have reported 227 cases among residents, 50 among staff and 18 deaths. In Elk County, 3 facilities have reported 101 cases among residents, 39 among staff and 5 deaths. In Potter County, 2 facilities reported 21 cases among residents and 13 among staff. In Cameron County, one facility reported 25 cases among residents, 6 among staff and one death.
