In the interest of public safety, The Bradford City Water Authority has decided to temporarily close the Gilbert Reservoir access road until further notice to all unauthorized traffic.
This road closure will take effect immediately. This access road begins across from the Marilla reservoir off of West Washington Street.
Executive Director Steve Disney stated, “Due to current logging operations combined with poor weather and road conditions, the authority in cooperation with Generations Forestry have determined it to be unsafe to continue to allow public access while these conditions are poor.”
He went on to state that “no winter maintenance is provided on any of the authority watershed roads and the Gilbert Reservoir access road is particularly dangerous and that danger increases immensely with the numerous logging trucks weighing near 80,000 pounds traveling steep, sharp curves and grades.”
Any questions or concerns can be addressed by calling the Authority offices at 814-362-3004. The water authority encourages and appreciates the cooperation of the public.
