There were 158 new cases of COVID-19 in the region in Thursday’s reporting, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
McKean County had 88 new cases for a total of 1,486 — 1,133 confirmed and 353 probable, with 7,706 negative tests. There have been 14 deaths.
Elk County had 57 new cases for a total of 1,264 — 807 confirmed and 457 probable, with 4,460 negative tests. There have been 14 deaths.
Potter County had 9 more cases for 514 total — 457 confirmed and 57 probable with 2,338 negative tests. There have been 12 deaths.
Cameron County had 4 more cases for 129 total — 89 confirmed and 40 probable and 733 negative tests. There have been 2 deaths.
In the state, there were 9,230 new cases, bringing the statewide total to 590,386.
In Bradford, there were 28 more cases for a total of 495 confirmed and 112 probable; in Smethport, there were 14 more cases, for 121 confirmed and 10 probable; in Kane, there were 15 more cases for 179 confirmed and 28 probable; in Lewis Run, 5 more cases for 49 confirmed and 149 probable; in Mount Jewett, at least 5 more for 29 confirmed and 5 probable; Ludlow, at least 1 more for 5 confirmed; in Rixford, at least 2 more for 12 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable; Eldred, 8 more for 64 confirmed and 8 probable; Port Allegany has 6 more cases for 92 confirmed and 11 probable; Crosby, at least 1 more case for 5 confirmed; Cyclone, at least 4 more, with 8 confirmed and 6 probable; and Rew, at least 2 more for 16 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable.
In Elk County, St. Marys had 24 more cases for 378 confirmed and 168 probable; Ridgway, 9 more for 158 confirmed and 54 probable; Johnsonburg, 5 more for 78 confirmed and 35 probable; Wilcox, 1 more for 25 confirmed and 13 probable; Kersey, 4 more for 52 confirmed and 32 probable; Weedville, 1 more case for 45 confirmed and 23 probable; and Brockport, 4 more for 34 confirmed and 22 probable.
In Potter County, Coudersport had 4 more cases for 199 confirmed and 28 probable; Shinglehouse, 1 more for 50 confirmed and 8 probable; Roulette, 1 more for 24 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable; and Galeton, 2 more cases for 47 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable.
In Cameron County, Emporium was up to 77 confirmed and 32 probable.
In nursing and personal care homes, there are 49,840 resident cases of COVID-19, and 9,070 cases among employees, for a total of 58,910 at 1,443 distinct facilities in all 67 counties.
In McKean County, 8 facilities have had 211 cases among residents, 48 among staff and 12 deaths. In Elk County, 3 facilities have had 101 cases among residents, 38 among residents and 4 deaths. In Potter County, 2 facilities have had 20 cases among residents and 8 among staff. In Cameron County, 1 facility has had 24 resident cases of COVID-19, and 6 cases in staff, as well as one death.
There are 6,142 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19, double the peak in the spring. Of that number, 1,263 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19.
In Elk County, 7 patients were hospitalized with COVID-19; 11 patients were hospitalized in McKean County, 1 in intensive care on a ventilator; and in Potter County, 8 patients were hospitalized, 2 in intensive care.
