As of Tuesday, there were 87 additional cases of COVID-19 in the local region, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
McKean County had 34 additional cases for a total of 1,131, and one additional death, for a total of 13. Elk County had 40 additional cases for a total of 1,131. Potter County had 2 additional cases, for a total of 499. Cameron County had 11 additional cases for a total of 121.
In Bradford, there were 18 more cases for 464 confirmed and 108 probable; in Smethport, 7 more cases for 107 confirmed and 9 probable; Kane, 3 more cases for 165 confirmed and 23 probable; Lewis Run, 1 additional case for 44 confirmed and 149 probable; Eldred, 3 more for 59 confirmed and 5 probable; Port Allegany, 1 more case for 86 confirmed and 11 probable; Mount Jewett, at least 1 more for 25 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable; Duke Center, 2 more for 10 confirmed and 6 probable; and Rixford, 4 more cases for 10 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable.
In Elk County, St. Marys had 21 more cases for 364 confirmed and 116 probable; Ridgway, 6 more for 147 confirmed and 41 probable; Johnsonburg, 2 more cases for 75 confirmed and 28 probable; Wilcox, 1 more case for 23 confirmed and 12 probable; Brockport, 3 more cases for 33 confirmed and 18 probable; Kersey, 2 more cases for 51 confirmed and 21 probable; and Weedville, 5 more cases for 44 confirmed and 17 probable.
In Potter County, both additional cases were in Coudersport for 194 confirmed and 27 probable.
And in Cameron County, 5 additional cases were in Emporium for 71 confirmed and 30 probable; Driftwood was at 5 confirmed; and Sinnemahoning was at 1 to 4 confirmed cases.
The health department indicated that there were 7,962 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in Pennsylvania as of Tuesday, bringing the statewide total to 571,551.
There are 6,090 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19, double the peak in the spring. Of that number, 1,217 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19.
In Elk County, there were 7 patients hospitalized with COVID-19; in McKean, 8 were hospitalized, 1 in intensive care; and in Potter County, there are 9 hospitalized, 2 in intensive care.
As of Tuesday, there were 231 new deaths reported for a total of 14,212 deaths attributed to COVID-19. Mask-wearing is required in all businesses and whenever leaving home. Consistent mask-wearing is critical to preventing the spread of COVID-19.
In nursing and personal care homes, there are 48,407 resident cases of COVID-19, and 8,810 cases among employees, for a total of 57,217 at 1,433 distinct facilities in all 67 counties. Out of our total deaths, 8,122 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.
