It’s official — Family Dollar is relocating to the Forman Street plaza in Bradford, and the House of Television will be moving to the old Family Dollar location in Union Square.
The Chesapeake, Va.-based Dollar Tree Inc., owner of the Family Dollar brand, said the new 10,000-square-foot store is expected to open in April 2021. The store will take up the entire Davis Street side of the plaza, which also houses Save-A-Lot and Arby’s.
The company noted a store of this size typically employs six to 10 associates.
“We will be hiring and interested applicants can apply online at www.FamilyDollar.com/careers or by visiting the store location closer to the opening date,” read a release from the company.
“We are proud to be part of the Bradford community,” stated Kayleigh M. Painter, Dollar Tree’s investor and media relations manager.
The store’s location at Union Square closed earlier this year.
The House of Television will be moving by Jan. 1, a company representative confirmed Thursday.
In addition to providing low prices, generally from $1 to $10, Family Dollar stores offer a broad assortment of products including frozen and refrigerated food, beauty and essentials, household products, pet food, diapers, electronics, hardware and automotive supplies, apparel and seasonal items. The offerings include name brands and quality private label merchandise, typically priced lower than grocery, drug and convenience stores, according to the company.
The new location will also include $1 Dollar Tree merchandise.
Dollar Tree, a Fortune 200 Company, operated 15,606 stores across 48 states and five Canadian provinces as of Oct. 31. Dollar Tree stores operate in Bradford and in Olean, N.Y., and a Family Dollar store on North Union Street in Olean, and one in Kane.
Stores operate under the brands of Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, and Dollar Tree Canada.
