HARRISBURG — The Susquehanna River Basin Commission approved a water-diversion project in Potter County at its Dec. 11 meeting in Harrisburg.
The project, by JKLM Energy LLC, involved the renewal of an into-basin diversion from the Ohio River Basin of up to 1.1 million gallons per day from the Goodwin and Son’s Sand and Gravel Quarry in Roulette Township, Potter County.
The voting commissioners and alternates were: Aneca Atkinson, Chair, Deputy Secretary, Office of Water Programs, Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection; Suzanne Dorsey, Assistant Secretary, Maryland Department of the Environment; and Col. John Litz, Baltimore District Engineer, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Matthew Marko, Director of Region 7, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation joined the meeting as an advisor.
