SMETHPORT (EC) — With two members absent Monday, Smethport Borough Council adopted the 2021 budget that totals $3,466,262 and carries no tax increase.
This spending plan includes the property tax of 1.09 mills, as well as the $5.00 per capita tax, and wage tax and realty transfer tax, both levied at one percent.
The budget breakdown shows that .10 mills is for the Hamlin Memorial Library, while .325 mills supports the Smethport Fire Department.
In another financial matter, council Okd a five-year agreement with Smethport Disposal, the current provider. Beginning Jan. 1, 2021, the monthly fee will be $18.00 or $17.50 for senior citizens. The cost for individual stickers will be $2.50.
