More than five dozen additional cases of COVID-19 were reported in the region on Friday.
McKean County saw 27 more cases for 562 total, and 4 deaths. Potter County had 14 additional cases for 321 total, and 6 deaths. Elk County had 20 more cases for 613 total, and a total of 8 deaths. Cameron County had 2 additional cases for a total of 32.
In McKean County, Bradford had 9 additional cases for 226 confirmed and 29 probable; Smethport had 4 more cases for 51 confirmed and 6 probable; Kane had 3 more cases for 60 confirmed and 9 probable; Lewis Run had at least 1 additional case for 11 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable; Port Allegany had 3 more cases for 41 confirmed and 6 probable; and Rixford had at least 1 additional case for 5 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable.
In Elk County, St. Marys had 5 more cases for 248 confirmed and 30 probable; Johnsonburg had 2 more for 56 confirmed and 16 probable; Ridgway had 2 more for 72 confirmed and 16 probable; Kersey had 1 more for 28 confirmed and 7 probable; Weedville had 1 more for 26 confirmed and 6 probable; Brockport had at least 4 more cases for 18 confirmed and 8 probable.
In Potter County, Coudersport had 11 more cases for 132 confirmed and 22 probable; Harrison Valley had at least 1 more case for 11 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable; and Roulette had at least 1 more case for 13 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable.
In Cameron County, 2 more cases were seen in Emporium for 25 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable.
In Elk County, 4 patients are hospitalized with COVID-19; in McKean County, 6 are hospitalized, 2 in intensive care; and in Potter County, 15 are hospitalized, 3 in intensive care.
Statewide, there were 11,763 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 398,600. This is the highest daily increase of COVID-19 cases.
There are 5,071 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19. Of that number, 1,065 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19. Most of the patients hospitalized are ages 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older.
The trend in the 14-day moving average of the number of hospitalized patients per day has increased by nearly 3,600 since the end of September.
As of 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, there were 169 new deaths reported for a total of 11,113 deaths attributed to COVID-19.
Mask-wearing is required in all businesses and whenever leaving home. Consistent mask-wearing is critical to preventing the spread of COVID-19.
There are 20,062 individuals who have a positive viral antigen test and are considered probable cases and 642 individuals who have a positive serology test and either COVID-19 symptoms or a high-risk exposure.
