After becoming blanketed with snowfall, the area will have a bit of a respite coming up according to meteorologist Craig Evanego with the National Weather Service in State College.
The cold, however, is expected to stay for some time.
From Tuesday and into today, Evanego said it’s possible the area would see a few more inches on top of what already fell from Monday night into Tuesday. The snow is expected to taper off as the day goes on, though he said travellers today should be careful with the potential slick commute this morning. The high today will be in the mid-30s, with a nighttime low around 24 degrees.
Though chilly with highs in the upper 30s and a low around 29 degrees, Thursday is expected to be clear of snow, though some rain mixed with snow is possible later Friday night into Saturday.
“Headed into Sunday and early next week, it will be chilly, with snow showers on and off,” said Evanego. “Overall, it looks like the temperature for the next seven days will be near to a little below normal for this time year. There are no warm-ups in sight unfortunately.”
