MARIENVILLE — The USDA Forest Service is accepting public review and comment of the supplemental environmental assessment on the South Branch Kinzua Creek project on the Marienville Ranger District of the Allegheny National Forest.
This project located northwest of Kane in Wetmore and Hamlin townships, McKean County, supplements the existing South Branch Kinzua Creek decision signed in 2008, adding shelterwood removal cuts and additional reforestation treatments for 11 stands. The project was approved for shelterwood seed cuts and reforestation treatments in the original South Branch Kinzua Creek decision. The proposed reforestation treatments would ensure the timely removal of the stand overstories when adequate regeneration is established.
