The Pennsylvania Department of Health indicated on Monday that there were 4,268 new cases of COVID-19, in addition to 5,529 new cases reported Sunday, for a two-day total of 9,797 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 361,464.
Locally, McKean County had an additional 13 cases for a total of 477, while Elk County had 5 more cases for a total of 545, and Potter County had 4 more cases for a total of 219. Cameron County remained at 26 cases.
In McKean County, Bradford was up by 9 cases to 194 confirmed and 23 probable; Smethport had 2 more cases for 42 confirmed and 5 probable; Port Allegany had 1 additional case for 31 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable; and Eldred had 1 more case for 23 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable cases.
In Elk County, Ridgway had 3 more cases for 60 confirmed and 15 probable, and Johnsonburg had 1 more case for 53 confirmed and 13 probable.
In Potter County, Coudersport showed 2 more cases for 78 confirmed and 14 probable. Shinglehouse showed 1 more case for 29 confirmed and 5 probable, and Harrison Valley showed 1 more case for 7 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable.
In Elk County, there were 3 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, in McKean County, there were 4 patients, 2 of whom were in intensive care and 1 of whom was on a ventilator. In Potter County, 5 patients were hospitalized, 2 in intensive care.
According to the health department, statewide, there were 4,405 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19. Of that number, 918 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19. Most of the patients hospitalized are ages 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older.
The trend in the 14-day moving average of the number of hospitalized patients per day has increased by nearly 3,000 since the end of September.
Statewide percent positivity for the week of Nov. 20 to 26 stood at 11.7%.
Mask-wearing is required in all businesses and whenever leaving home. Consistent mask-wearing is critical to preventing the spread of COVID-19.
There are 16,951 individuals who have a positive viral antigen test and are considered probable cases and 639 individuals who have a positive serology test and either COVID-19 symptoms or a high-risk exposure.
There are 2,828,049 individuals who have tested negative to date.
