ULYSSES — Due to the number of positive and pending COVID-19 cases, Superintendent Nathan Jones announced via social media Sunday that Northern Potter School District will be implementing its remote teaching and learning plan starting Tuesday.
In the announcement, Jones noted that teachers will begin remotely teaching from their classrooms and will contact students starting Tuesday to communicate their remote teaching and learning plans with parents and students.
Lunch will be distributed at the district for pick-up from 11 a.m. until noon, Tuesday through Friday.
“The district will contact families regarding transportation for supplemental learning support and life skills students,” added Jones. “Throughout the week, we will identify students who need to be transported to school due to limited internet access.”
Additionally, Seneca Highlands Career and Technical Center (CTC) students will be taught virtually by their Northern Potter teachers and transported as usual to the CTC.
Athletic practices will continue until further notice.
“We will reassess the district’s situation next weekend to decide if we will have face-to-face learning or if we will continue our remote learning plan for the week of Dec. 7,” said Jones, adding that the district and parents “need to continue communicating regarding COVID-19 cases to make an informed decision.”
If a staff member, family member, and/or student of the district is being tested or quarantined for COVID-19, contact Nurse Cizek at 848-7563 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
