Johnsonburg Area School District will close its buildings from Nov. 26 to Dec. 6. The school buildings will reopen for in-person instruction Dec. 7.
Superintendent Dennis Crotzer released a letter to families and staff Tuesday evening, explaining that due to the continued increase in COVID-19 cases for both the district and the county, the school closure is an effort to try and reduce positive cases within the school district.
Materials will be sent home for students to work on, along with Chromebooks the district purchased for student use.
All material should be completed by the time they return on Dec. 7. High school students will continue with remote learning, as they did a few weeks ago during the closure of the high school.
Crotzer explained that meals will be provided for Dec. 1-4. Pick-up of the meals will be at the High School for both buildings on Tuesday and Thursday. Times are 10:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Parents and guardians are asked to pull around to the side door of the cafeteria and someone will be available to bring meals to the individual handling pickup. Students do not need to be in the vehicle.
All sports and activities are cancelled for the time frame the buildings are closed.
The Keystone Exams will be rescheduled to Dec. 10 -17, with Literature set for Dec. 10 and 11, Algebra I for Dec. 14 and 15 and Biology for Dec. 16 and 17.
