Thirty-one new cases of COVID-19 were reported in McKean County with Tuesday’s data, according to the state health department.
The total number of cases is 416 — 349 confirmed and 67 probable, with 6,388 negative tests.
In Elk County, the total rose by 12 to 454 cases — 388 confirmed and 66 probable, with 3,788 negative tests.
In Potter County, there were 7 more cases for a total of 159 — 147 confirmed and 12 probable, with 1,787 negative tests.
One additional case was reported in Cameron County, for 20 total — 18 confirmed and 2 probable, with 620 negative tests.
In McKean County, Bradford had 6 additional confirmed cases for 156, and 15 more probable cases, for a total of 37. Kane had 1 additional case for 40 confirmed and 5 probable. Smethport had 2 additional cases, for 37 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable. Port Allegany had 3 additional cases for 24 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable. Eldred had 1 more case for 20 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable cases. Derrick City is up to 5 confirmed cases and 1 to 4 probable cases.
In Elk County, St. Marys had 3 additional cases for 207 confirmed and 19 probable; Johnsonburg had 3 more cases for 47 confirmed and 9 probable; Ridgway had 2 more cases for 52 confirmed and 14 probable; Weedville rose by 3 for 20 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable; and Kersey had 23 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable cases.
In Potter County, Coudersport had 4 additional cases for 51 confirmed and 5 probable; Galeton had 2 more cases for 23 confirmed; Genesee had 1 more case for 21 confirmed.
In Cameron County, Emporium had 16 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable, while Driftwood had 1 to 4 confirmed.
Elk County had 2 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, McKean County had 2 patients hospitalized, one of whom was in intensive care, and Potter County had 7 patients hospitalized, 3 of whom are in intensive care.
Nursing home data from the state health department indicated 6 facilities in McKean County reported 25 cases among residents and 14 among staff. In Elk, 2 facilities reported 73 cases among residents, 31 among staff and one death. In Potter, 2 facilities reported 2 cases among residents and 1 in staff.
Statewide, the health department indicated there were 6,669 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 321,070.
There are 3,459 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19. Of that number, 767 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19. Most of the patients hospitalized are ages 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older.
The trend in the 14-day moving average of the number of hospitalized patients per day has increased by nearly 2,200 since the end of September.
Mask-wearing is required in all businesses and whenever leaving home. Consistent mask-wearing is critical to preventing the spread of COVID-19.
