Numbers of cases of COVID-19 continued to climb on Monday, with 30 new cases in three local counties.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Elk County had an increase of 13 cases for a total of 442 — 376 confirmed cases and 66 probable cases, along with 3,763 negative tests and 3 deaths.
McKean County had 12 more cases for a total of 385 — 333 confirmed cases, 52 probable cases, 6,342 negative tests and 4 deaths.
Potter County had 5 more cases for a total of 152 — 140 confirmed cases, 12 probable cases, 1,764 negative tests and 3 deaths.
Cameron County remained at 19 cases, with 615 negative tests.
The health department indicated Monday that there were 4,762 new cases, in addition to 7,075 new cases reported Sunday, for a two-day total of 11,837 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 314,401.
Bradford had 150 confirmed and 22 probable cases; Kane, 39 confirmed, 5 probable; Smethport, 35 confirmed, 1 to 4 probable; Port Allegany, 21 confirmed, 1 to 4 probable; Eldred, 19 confirmed, 1 to 4 probable; Mount Jewett, 14 confirmed, 1 to 4 probable; Lewis Run, 10 confirmed, 1 to 4 probable; Turtlepoint, 7 confirmed; Duke Center, 6 confirmed, 1 to 4 probable; Derrick City, Rixford, Gifford, 1 to 4 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable; and Crosby, Cyclone and Ludlow, 1 to 4 confirmed.
In Elk County, St. Marys had 204 confirmed and 19 probable; Ridgway, 50 confirmed, 14 probable; Johnsonburg, 44 confirmed, 9 probable; Weedville, 17 confirmed, 1 to 4 probable; Brockport, 15 confirmed, 1 to 4 probable; Wilcox, 12 confirmed, 5 probable; Sigel, 6 confirmed, 1 to 4 probable; Benezette, 6 confirmed; and Byrnedale, 1 to 4 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable.
In Potter County, Coudersport, 47 confirmed, 6 probable; Shinglehouse, 24 confirmed, 1 to 4 probable; Galeton, 21 confirmed; Genesee, 20 confirmed; Ulysses and Roulette, 9 confirmed; Harrison Valley, 5 confirmed, 1 to 4 probable; Mills and Austin, 1 to 4 confirmed;
In Cameron County, Emporium had 16 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable; Driftwood, 1 to 4 confirmed.
Regarding hospitalizations, Potter County had 4 COVID-19 patients hospitalized, 2 of which were in intensive care. McKean County had 3 COVID-19 patients hospitalized, and one in intensive care. Elk County had 1 COVID patient hospitalized.
On Monday, family members of residents at the Bradford Manor told The Era they had received notification of 18 COVID-19 cases at that facility. No further information was immediately available. The health department releases data on long-term care facilities on Tuesdays.
At last report from the health department, 6 facilities in McKean County had reported a total of 10 cases in residents and 14 in staff.
Those numbers are much higher in Elk County, where 2 facilities had reported 73 cases among residents, 31 among staff and one death. In Potter County, 2 facilities had reported 2 cases among residents and 1 in staff.
