In one week’s time, the counties of McKean, Elk, Potter and Cameron together have seen an additional 205 cases of COVID-19.
From Nov. 13 to Friday, McKean County had 87 additional cases, Elk County had 86, Potter County had 31 and Cameron County had one, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
As of Friday’s reporting, Elk County saw an increase of 14 cases to 407 total, McKean County, five more cases to 332, and Potter, two more cases to 125. Cameron County remained at 17.
In Bradford, there were three additional confirmed cases, for 128 total, while there were two fewer probable cases, for a total of 22. Kane saw two additional cases for 36 confirmed and five probable. Smethport had two additional cases as well, for 26 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable.
In Elk County, St. Marys had an increase of six cases for a total of 191 confirmed and 15 probable. Ridgway had one additional case for 47 confirmed and 13 probable. Johnsonburg had four additional cases for 43 confirmed and nine probable. Kersey had two more cases for 18 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable. Weedville had two additional cases for 17 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable.
In Potter County, Coudersport had one additional case for 39 confirmed and five probable, while Shinglehouse had one additional case for 21 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable.
According to the health department, two nursing home facilities in Elk County have had cases of COVID-19 in 74 patients and 30 staff, and there has been one death. In McKean County, six facilities have had COVID-19 in 9 patients and 13 staff. In Potter County, two facilities have had COVID-19 cases, one in a resident and one in a staff member.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health indicated Friday that there were 6,808 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 295,786.
There were 2,952 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19. Of that number, 659 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19. Most of the patients hospitalized are ages 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older.
As of Friday, Potter County had three patients hospitalized with COVID-19, two of whom were in the intensive care unit. Elk County had two patients hospitalized as of Friday, while McKean County had one patient in ICU who was on a ventilator.
The trend in the 14-day moving average of the number of hospitalized patients per day has increased by nearly 1,800 since the end of September.
The number of tests administered within the last seven days between Nov. 13 and 19 is 393,010 with 40,122 positive cases. There were 54,209 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m., Nov. 19.
As of early Friday, there were 108 new deaths reported for a total of 9,689 deaths attributed to COVID-19. Mask-wearing is required in all businesses and whenever leaving home. Consistent mask-wearing is critical to preventing the spread of COVID-19.
There are 11,175 individuals who have a positive viral antigen test and are considered probable cases and 643 individuals who have a positive serology test and either COVID-19 symptoms or a high-risk exposure.
