The area may see a light dusting of snow coming up, though Michael Colbert from the National Weather Service in State College said he doesn’t expect any significant amount of snow anytime in the near future.

Today is expected to be another mild day, breezy with plenty of sunshine and a high around 55 degrees. It will then become cloudy tonight, with a low around 36 degrees.

As for the weekend, Colbert said temperatures will drop about ten degrees during the day, with highs in the mid to upper 40s, with the next chance for rain and snow being late Saturday into Sunday and Monday.

“It looks like a pretty weak cold front that comes through with small amounts of precipitation,” he said. “As far as the liquid equivalent that would come out of that, I’d say about ¼ to ½ of an inch. Some may fall as snow, but barely enough to whiten the ground.”

Colbert added that the most likely time to expect any snow would be early Sunday morning, though even that will most likely consist of rain showers. Sunday will have highs in the mid 40s, with the night time seeing a low around 31 degrees.

Monday will be cloudy with highs in the lower 40s. As a cold shot of air comes in Monday night, the temperature is expected to drop into the low 20s. Tuesday is expected to be sunny, yet colder, with a high near 40. Tuesday night into Wednesday morning has a 40% chance of a mix of rain and snow showers.

“That also doesn’t look to be a big storm system, more like a weak front,” added Colbert.

Additionally, he had some good news for those who may be traveling on Thanksgiving Day, as it’s expected to be mostly cloudy, with warmer air and a high near 50 degrees.
