A Bradford woman suffered serious injuries when she walked out in front of a car in dark clothing, in the rain, last Friday evening on West Washington Street in Bradford.
According to Bradford City Police Chief Mike Ward, Carol Musser, 74, of 169 W. Washington St., suffered serious facial injuries when she walked out into the street in front of a vehicle driven by Rhonda Pascarella, 63, of Gates Hollow.
At 6:43 p.m. Friday, Pascarella’s vehicle was traveling west on West Washington Street when Musser entered the road. Ward explained it was dark and raining, visibility was poor and Musser was wearing dark clothing, and was not using a crosswalk, the police chief said.
Pascarella did not see Musser, and the vehicle struck her, Ward explained.
Ward said Pascarella was not cited, and the accident was deemed to be the fault of the pedestrian.
Musser was taken by Bradford City Ambulance to Bradford Regional Medical Center. At the time, medical helicopters were not able to fly because of the weather conditions to take Musser to a trauma center.
