LEWIS RUN — A Port Allegany man was found deceased in the woods Sunday in Liberty Township.
Charles Safford, 71, died a natural death, Lewis Run-based state police indicated.
According to police, at 2:15 p.m. Sunday, they responded to a report of a death in the woods in the area of 24 Upper Portage Road. Upon arrival, first responders found a deceased adult male.
Assisting at the scene were the Port Allegany and Roulette fire departments, Port Allegany Ambulance, Deputy Coroner Martin Henneman and Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Home.
The case is currently under investigation.
