State police said that a fire Monday in Bradford City was arson, and reported that an arson fire Nov. 9 in Corydon Township also had an element of burglary.
Police did not give any indication that two arsons were related.
State police fire marshal Trooper Russell Stewart investigated both.
According to Stewart, at 6 a.m. Monday, the Bradford City Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 159 E. Main St., Bradford. He and the fire department investigated the blaze and ruled that it was arson.
The Bradford home was reported to be vacant, and Stewart said it is unknown who the homeowner is.
Meanwhile, Stewart is now saying that a Nov. 9 fire in Corydon Township that was previously ruled an arson is also the site of a burglary.
According to Stewart, firefighters were dispatched at 4:45 p.m. Nov. 9 to 2464 W. Washington St., Corydon Township, for a structure fire. He investigated the fire, along with the Corydon Township and Bradford Township fire departments, and it was determined that someone forcefully entered the home, then started the fire.
The home was owned by Garth Stoltz, 57, of Battle Creek, Mich.
Police did not indicate that anyone was injured in either fire.
