The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported two new COVID-19 deaths in the local area over the weekend.
An additional death in Elk County brings the total there to 3, and one in Potter County brings that total to 2.
No new deaths were reported in McKean County, which remains at 2, or Cameron County, which remains the only county in Pennsylvania with no COVID-19 deaths.
As of noon on Sunday, three local counties had an increase in cases since Friday.
McKean County had an increase of 29 cases for a new total of 274; Elk, an increase of 22 for a total of 343; and Potter, an increase of 9 for a total of 103.
McKean County has 223 confirmed and 51 probable cases, and there were 6,027 negative tests. Elk has 294 confirmed and 49 probable cases, and there have been 3,573 negative tests. In Potter County, there are 99 confirmed and 4 probable cases, and there are 1,661 negative tests.
In Cameron County, the case count remains at a total of 16, with 14 confirmed and 2 probable cases. There are 595 negative tests.
In the seven-day period from Nov. 6-12, the percent positive rate in Potter County was 10%; in Elk, 7.9%; in McKean, 7.7%; and in Cameron, 2.1%.

In Elk County, case distribution is, in St. Marys, 159 confirmed, 14 probable; Ridgway, 44 confirmed, 13 probable; Johnsonburg, 38 confirmed, 9 probable; Wilcox, 11 confirmed, 5 probable; Weedville, 14 confirmed, 1-4 probable; Kersey, 10 confirmed, 1-4 probable; Benezette, 5 confirmed; and Byrnedale, 1-4 confirmed.
Potter County cases can be found in the following areas: Coudersport, 33 confirmed, 1-4 probable; Shinglehouse, 18 confirmed, 1-4 probable; Galeton, 16 confirmed; Genesee, 11 confirmed; Roulette, 8 confirmed; Harrison Valley, 5 confirmed, 1-4 probable; Ulysses, 5 confirmed; and Mills and Austin, 1-4 confirmed.
In Cameron County, case distribution is as follows: Emporium, 13 confirmed, 1-4 probable; and Driftwood, 1-4 confirmed.
The most recent statewide update was released Saturday.
The Department of Health announced a daily increase of 5,551 cases on Saturday, bringing the statewide total to 259,938. This was the highest daily increase of cases to date.
About 13,403 of the state’s total cases are in health care workers.
Between Nov. 7-13, there were 366,928 tests administered with 30,437 positive cases and 52,408 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m. Nov. 13.
As of 10 p.m. Nov. 13, there were 50 new deaths reported, for a total of 9,274.
A total of 8,089 people have had a positive viral antigen test and are considered probable cases, and 644 with a positive serology test and either COVID-19 symptoms or a high-risk exposure.
People are required to wear masks in all Pennsylvania businesses and whenever they leave home.
