The Pennsylvania Department of Health indicated Friday that there were 5,531 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 254,387 — again the highest daily increase of cases.
Elk County saw an increase of 8 cases to 321; McKean, 13 cases to 245; and Potter, 7 cases to 94. The percent positivity rate in each county for the 7-day period of Nov. 6 to 12, according to the health department, is as follows: Potter, 10.1%; Elk, 7.9%; McKean, 7.7%; and Cameron, 2.1%.
In McKean County, Bradford’s case count was 89 confirmed and 21 probable, an increase of 11 cases; Port Allegany was up by 1 case to 10 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable; and Rew had 5 confirmed cases.
In Elk County, St. Marys was at 150 cases, an increase of 2; Johnsonburg had 1 additional case for 37 confirmed; and Ridgway was at 40 confirmed and 13 probable cases.
In Potter County, Galeton had 12 confirmed, an increase of 5 cases. Coudersport had 32 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable; Genesee had 9 confirmed.
Five counties remain with fewer than 100 cases, with Warren County right on the cusp at 99, Potter with 94, Sullivan at 31, Forest at 24 and Cameron at 16.
Fourteen counties have more than 100, and fewer than 500 cases: Susquehanna, 478; Perry, 473; Tioga, 466; Clarion, 435; Greene, 407; Juniata, 385; Jefferson, 368; Clinton, 377; Montour, 360; Wayne, 341; Elk, 321; Wyoming, 286; McKean, 245; and Fulton, 142.
Ten counties have between 500 and 1,000 cases: Crawford, 953; Union, 922; Carbon, 845; Somerset, 841; Mifflin, 830; Bedford, 808; Clearfield, 759; Pike, 712; Snyder, 651; and Venango, 523.
Thirty-one counties have more than 1,000 and fewer than 10,000 cases.
Seven counties have more than 10,000 cases: Philadelphia, 47,109; Allegheny, 19,129; Montgomery, 16,773; Delaware, 16,056; Bucks, 12,519; Lancaster, 11,712; and Berks, 11,036.
The number of tests administered within the last 7 days between Nov. 6 and 12 is 332,640 with 28,290 positive cases. There were 54,399 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m., Nov. 12. This is a record high number of PCR test results reported to the department.
As of 11:59 p.m., Thursday, there were 30 new deaths reported for a total of 9,224 deaths attributed to COVID-19.
Mask-wearing is required in all businesses and whenever leaving home. Consistent mask-wearing is critical to preventing the spread of COVID-19.
There are 7,612 individuals who have a positive viral antigen test and are considered probable cases and 645 individuals who have a positive serology test and either COVID-19 symptoms or a high-risk exposure.
There are 2,523,984 individuals who have tested negative to date.
