RIDGWAY — On Friday, a pick-up truck driver fled the scene of a two-vehicle crash in Jay Township that injured one person and disabled the second vehicle.
According to Ridgway-based state police, at 7:28 p.m. Friday on Route 255, a pick-up truck passed a car driven by a 17-year-old female from Kersey in a no-passing zone. The truck cut in front of the car and slammed on its brakes.
The car struck the back end of the truck, which caused disabling damage to the car, police said.
Also, one of the car’s passengers, Katherine J. Cheatle, 18, of St. Marys, was transported by Bennett’s Valley Ambulance to Penn Highlands DuBois for treatment of minor injuries, police reported.
Neither the 17-year-old driver nor the car’s other two passengers reported injuries.
Police described the truck as being a bigger truck that is dark blue or black in color with a cap over the bed and rust around the tailgate area. The truck likely sustained significant damage to its rear end in the collision.
No information about the operator of the truck was available.
