LEWIS RUN — No injuries were reported when a pick-up truck caught on fire at 5:53 p.m. Thursday on U.S. Route 219 in Lafayette Township.
According to Lewis Run-based state police, a 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 driven by Mark L. Smith, 55, of East Otto, N.Y., was traveling south on Route 219 when he noticed smoke coming in from the dashboard.
Smith pulled the truck over to the side of the road and noticed smoke coming from under the hood, police said.
The Lafayette Township Fire Department extinguished the blaze.
Police do not know what caused the truck to catch on fire.
