As Veteran’s Day quickly approaches, RISE will be honoring veterans by decorating the pine tree located in front of Tops at 10:30 a.m. today.
RISE adopted this tree located at the intersection of Main Street and Festival Way, on the corner of Tops’ property, to take part in further enhancing downtown Bradford. Members are invited to join in on the decorating. The public is invited to take a photo with a veteran they know, and hang a flag.
This is the second seasonal Tree Decorating event hosted by RISE, the first themed around fall.
RISE officials voiced appreciation of partners Tops Friendly Market and the Blaisdell Foundation, as well as Pure Tech for providing the lift truck, making it possible to decorate the entirety of the tree.
Ron Orris, veteran, will be hanging decorations made by the Children’s Ministry at the First United Methodist Church.
Marissa Yohe, co-chair of the RISE events committee, said, “After receiving the outpouring of support and positive feedback from our first tree decorating event, we were all excited to continue this tradition and keep our RISE members involved in the community.”
RISE encourages the community to come learn more about their mission/goals and sign up to be a member. Currently, the RISE membership fee is waived until Jan. 1, 2021. Sign up today at my.cheddarup.com/c/rise-membership or email rise.bradford@gmail.com.
