SHINGLEHOUSE — Oswayo Valley Memorial Library is hosting free virtual music workshops with Simple Gifts this month.
Workshops are available for people of all ages. Call the library to sign up and receive a link to the workshops.
For the children’s workshops, participants will see and hear a wide variety of (mostly string) instruments, learn the history of the instrument, see how it works, and have a chance to ask questions. Simple Gifts has incredible knowledge of instruments and a great rapport with children.
Teens and adults are invited to have their instruments ready if they play. Simple Gifts will talk about how to play in a group and how to arrange music. They will also teach participants how to play spoons.
Workshops will be offered at several times.
On Nov. 10:
• 4 p.m. workshop for ages 4-7
• 5 p.m. workshop for ages 8-12
