LITTLE VALLEY, N.Y. — A Mount Jewett, Pa., woman was arrested in the City of Olean on Wednesday for alleged welfare fraud.

Susan T. Trout, 39, of 3328 Route 219, is charged with attempted petit larceny and attempted welfare fraud in the 5th degree. According to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s office, Trout fraudulently tried to receive SNAP benefits by providing false information to the Department of Social Services.

Trout was taken into custody and released with an appearance ticket. She is due to return to City of Olean Court at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 8.
