A Kane man is facing charges including unlawful contact and sexual abuse of a minor for allegedly exchanging nude photos with an underage girl.

Michael A. Landries, 21, of 416 N. Tionesta St., is charged with sexual abuse of a child and two counts of unlawful contact with a minor, third-degree felonies; three counts of corruption of minors, first-degree misdemeanors; and one count of indecent assault of a person less than 16, a second-degree misdemeanor; transmission of sexually explicit images to a minor, a third-degree misdemeanor; and harassment and disorderly conduct, summary offenses.

According to the criminal complaint, the father of a 14-year-old female contacted police because his daughter had received sexually explicit images from Landries. The officer went to Landries’ residence, and was told Landries was upstairs in his room, and one of the other people in the home said she thought she had heard the cocking of a gun from his room.

The officer backed out of the residence and called in other officers for assistance. The officers eventually were able to speak to Landries on the phone, and were able to take him into custody without incident, the criminal complaint stated.

When the girl was interviewed by police, she said she and Landries were friends, that they were sending illicit photos back and forth and that he had physical contact with her, the complaint stated.

As of Friday, Landries had yet to be arraigned. The charges are filed in the office of District Judge David Engman.
