COUDERSPORT — Another case of COVID-19 was found in a person from Coudersport Area Jr./Sr. High School.
This was indicated by a letter from Superintendent Drew Kyle that was circulating on other news sources on Wednesday.
The letter was similar to a letter the school district sent out on Oct. 27, except this letter was not dated. The letter did not indicate if the person who tested positive was a student or a staff member.
The new letter indicates that the district, upon hearing of the positive case, implemented its COVID-19 protocols and is working with the Pennsylvania Department of Health to determine if any students and staff need to be quarantined.
Department of Health guidance states that anyone who was within six feet of the person for more than 15 minutes should quarantine for 14 days.
The school district planned to reach out to any families with a student who needed to be quarantined. Any families who have not already been contacted by the district were not in contact with the person and are not considered at additional risk under Department of Health guidance.
