SMETHPORT — Smethport Borough Council on Monday accepted the bids from Duffy Inc. to remedy drainage problems caused by flooding in two areas.
Of the five companies returning bid packages, Duffy Inc. submitted the low quotes of $54,189.50 for the Bank Street to Willow Street and to the creek project and $140,351.20 for the Center Street to Hamlin Lake work. Both quotes were subject to review by the borough engineer.
In other matters, council OKd the payment request of $16,252 for the first draw down on the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Greenways Trails and Recreation Program Grant, which the borough received to assist in paying for replacing the walkbridge in Hamlin Lake Park.
The CFA, established in 2004 as an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, administers economic stimulus packages.
Adoption of the borough’s 2021 budget will be on December’s agenda.
