I am the tax collector for Bradford Township and I would like to express my concern for the integrity of the U.S. Postal Service in assuring the voter that their mail-in vote will reach its destination and if it will have a valid postmark printed on the envelope.
I receive tax payments daily in the mail and I rely on a postmark to validate that the taxes were mailed on or before certain due dates. In the past few months, I have noticed each week, several tax payments are not postmarked. This makes me wonder how many mail-in ballots will not be valid because they don’t have the required postmark.
And what about those 35 ballots that were lost because a drop box in Boston was set on fire this past week?
| also mailed our son-in-law in North Carolina a card on Sept. 8 from the post office and he has yet to receive it. So, with all of this in mind, I am going to the polls in person to cast my vote during this important presidential election.
