Three local counties continued to see COVID-19 case counts rise as the week came to an end. McKean, Elk and Potter counties all reported increases in total case counts, while Cameron County remains below double digits.
McKean has 157 cases, up nine from Thursday. That includes 122 confirmed cases and 35 probable. To date, there have been 5,420 negative tests. By municipality, numbers are as follows: Bradford has 46 confirmed and 14 probable cases; Cyclone has 1-4 confirmed cases; Gifford has 1-4 confirmed cases; Lewis Run reports 1-4 confirmed and 1-4 probable cases;
Smethport has 9 confirmed and 1-4 probable cases and Rew reports show 1-4 confirmed cases. Potter County has 58 cases, an increase of three cases from Thursday’s totals. That includes 54 confirmed and 4 probable cases. Meanwhile, the county has 1,413 negative tests recorded to date. By municipality, Coudersport with 27 confirmed and 1-4 probable cases; Genesee has 1-4 confirmed cases; Roulette has eight confirmed cases; Shinglehouse has nine confirmed cases; Ulysses with 1-4 confirmed cases and Austin with 1-4 confirmed cases.
Elk County has a total of 177 reported cases, an increase of 10 from Thursday. That includes 140 confirmed and 37 probable. To date, there have been 3,167 negative tests in the county. By municipality: St. Marys has 57 confirmed and 10 probable; Wilcox has 9 confirmed cases and 1-4 probable; Weedville has 10 confirmed cases; Benezett has 1-4 confirmed cases; Ridgway has 26 confirmed and 12 probable cases; Kersey reports 1-4 confirmed cases and Johnsonburg has 30 confirmed and 10 probable.
Cameron County remains at 9 total cases, 8 confirmed and 1 probable, all in Emporium. To date, the county has recorded 528 negative tests.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of Friday, there were a total of 2,641 additional positive cases of COVID-19, which includes 2,416 new one-day positive cases and another 225 cases from previous days and reported today, bringing the statewide total to 205,517. Daily increases are now comparable with those in April 2020.
The number of tests administered within the last 7 days between October 23 and October 29 is 249,105 with 14,516 positive cases. There were 39,851 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m., October 29.
There are 8,784 deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 22 new deaths reported.
There are 2,297,983 individuals who have tested negative to date. Of those who have tested positive to date the age breakdown is as follows: approximately 1% are ages 0-4; approximately 2% are ages 5-12; approximately 5% are ages 13-18; nearly 14% are ages 19-24; nearly 36% are ages 25-49; approximately 21% are ages 50-64; and nearly 21% are ages 65 or older.
