Three local counties have seen increases in cases of COVID-19, and the statewide total of cases has surpassed 200,000.
On Thursday, the state Department of Health reported there were 2,202 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 202,876.
Elk County had 3 additional cases for a total of 167, with 135 confirmed and 32 probable. There have been 3,155 negative tests.
McKean County had 12 additional cases for a total of 148, with 114 confirmed and 34 probable. There have been 5377 negative tests.
Potter County recorded one additional case for 55, with 51 confirmed and 4 probable. There have been 1,410 negative tests.
Cameron County remained unchanged, with 9 cases, and 528 negative tests.
In McKean County, Bradford has seen 2 additional cases for a total of 43 confirmed and 13 probable. Rixford was showing its first cases, with 1 to 4 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable; Derrick City is on the map for the first time, listed at 1 to 4 probable cases; Eldred saw an increase of 2 to 10 cases; Turtlepoint had 1 to 4 confirmed cases.
In Elk County, the additional 3 cases were in Ridgway, for a total of 24 confirmed and 9 probable cases.
The number of tests administered within the last 7 days between Oct. 22 and 28 is 248,480 with 14,377 positive cases. There were 34,402 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m., Oct. 28.
There are 8,762 deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 44 new deaths reported. Mask-wearing is required in all businesses and whenever leaving home. Consistent mask-wearing is critical to preventing the spread of COVID-19.
There are 2,994 individuals who have a positive viral antigen test and are considered probable cases and 647 individuals who have a positive serology test and either COVID-19 symptoms or a high-risk exposure.
There are 2,282,828 individuals who have tested negative to date.
