The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Wednesday confirmed that there were 2,228 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 200,674.
The number of tests administered within the last 7 days between Oct. 21 and 27 is 252,583 with 13,574 positive cases. There were 33,329 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m., Oct. 27.
There are 8,718 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 22 new deaths reported.
With Wednesday’s reporting period, Elk County’s case count was up by 4 to 164 cases, with 132 confirmed and 32 probable cases. There have been 3,137 negative tests. St. Marys had 3 additional cases, for 54 confirmed and 10 probable. Ridgway saw an increase for 21 confirmed and 9 probable cases.
McKean County was up by 4 to 136 cases, with 105 confirmed and 31 probable cases. There have been 5,316 negative tests. All four of the additional cases were listed in Bradford, for a total of 41 confirmed and 13 probable cases within the Bradford ZIP code.
Potter County was up by 4 cases for 54 cases, with 50 confirmed and 4 probable. There have been 1,403 negative tests.
Cameron County has had 9 cases in total, and 525 negative tests
Only 6 counties remain that have seen fewer than 100 cases: Fulton with 83, Warren with 66, Potter with 54, Sullivan and Forest, each with 19, and Cameron with 9.
Four counties are between 100 and 200 cases: Jefferson at 187, Elk County with 164, McKean at 136, and Wyoming at 130.
Fifteen counties are between 200 and 500 cases: Snyder at 484, Somerset at 420, Susquehanna at 406, Clearfield at 46, Bedford at 398, Mifflin at 396, Perry at 360, Montour at 297, Wayne at 285, Clinton at 267, Venango at 260, Greene at 240, Juniata at 237, Clarion at 222, and Tioga at 213.
Nine counties have had more than 500, but fewer than 1,000 cases: Lycoming, 968; Huntingdon, 957; Lawrence, 879; Bradford, 745; Union, 702; Armstrong, 699; Pike, 622; Carbon, 587; and Crawford, 523.
Twenty-eight counties have had more than 1,000 but fewer than 10,000 cases, while the 5 counties above 10,000 cases are as follows: Philadelphia with 38,606; Allegheny with 15,300; Montgomery, 13,885; Delaware, 13,527; and Bucks, 10,171.
Mask-wearing is required in all businesses and whenever leaving home. Consistent mask-wearing is critical to preventing the spread of COVID-19.
There are 2,834 individuals who have a positive viral antigen test and are considered probable cases and 647 individuals who have a positive serology test and either COVID-19 symptoms or a high-risk exposure.
There are 2,269,246 individuals who have tested negative to date.
