Meals on Wheels at BRMC has partnered with CARS (Charitable Adult Rides & Services) to offer supporters a new and meaningful way to contribute to the program.
Donated vehicles drive forward Meals on Wheels’ mission to provide nutritious meals and personal contact to participants throughout the county, as well as protect the environment by properly removing unwanted vehicles from the road.
Director of Volunteer Services & Community Outreach, Stacy Shotts Williams, said, “we are so thankful for the donations received from Philo and Sarah Blaisdell Foundation, Bradford Regional Medical Center, Charitable Community members, First Presbyterian Church Fund, Meals on Wheels America, National Fuel Gas Company Foundation, The Dr. Lyle F. Renodin Foundation and the United Way of the Bradford Area. Our program could not operate without the generosity of our donors. CARS will allow another avenue for giving to our program.”
This new partnership with CARS offers donors an easy way to repurpose any unwanted vehicles. Donating a vehicle is easy, tax-deductible, and avoids the hassles of selling or the costs of repairing altogether. CARS accepts cars, trucks, RV’s, boats, motorcycles, off-road vehicles, planes, heavy equipment, farm machinery and most other motorized vehicles running or not. The vehicle must be in one piece and towable, have an engine and be tow truck accessible. To get started, call 844-411-5768 or visit mealsonwheels.careasy.org.
Vehicle donations will strengthen the service provided by Meals on Wheels at BRMC. The program has served 17,232 meals from January to September 2020.
Many nonprofits across the U.S. rely greatly on their vehicle donation program as a stable source of funds. CARS is the largest nonprofit vehicle donation provider and a trusted partner to over 3,500 other nonprofits in North America.
