Elk County’s COVID-19 case count rose by 11 cases with Wednesday’s reporting, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
The number of positive cases so far in Elk County was listed at 127, with 102 confirmed and 25 probable cases. There have been 2,882 negative tests.
McKean and Potter counties each rose by 1 case, with McKean’s number of positive cases to date at 102 and Potter’s at 43. McKean County has had 4,971 negative tests, and Potter County has had 1,318.
Cameron County remained at 8 cases and has had 511 negative tests.
In Elk County, St. Marys has had 43 confirmed cases and 7 probable cases. Ridgway has had 17 confirmed and 10 probable; Johnsonburg, 18 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable; Wilcox, 7 confirmed, 1 to 4 probable; Weedville, 10 confirmed; Brockport, 1 to 4 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable; Kersey and Benezette, 1 to 4 confirmed.
The additional cases in McKean and Potter counties were harder to pinpoint, as it appears they may be in an area with four cases or fewer. The health department redacts data on 4 or fewer cases.
According to the health department, there were 1,425 additional positive cases of COVID-19 with Wednesday’s reporting, bringing the statewide total to 186,297.
Allegheny County is reporting an increase of 114 cases and Philadelphia County is reporting an increase of 100 cases.
The number of tests administered within the last 7 days between Oct. 14 and 20 is 225,406 with 10,226 positive cases. There were 25,152 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m., Oct. 20.
There are 8,562 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 29 new deaths reported. Mask-wearing is required in all businesses and whenever leaving home. Consistent mask-wearing is critical to preventing the spread of COVID-19.
There are 1,963 individuals who have a positive viral antigen test and are considered probable cases and 648 individuals who have a positive serology test and either COVID-19 symptoms or a high-risk exposure.
There are 2,167,536 individuals who have tested negative to date.
