Bradford Area School District is reporting a third confirmed case of COVID-19, the second in the district’s staff.
A district-wide alert sent Wednesday evening notified parents that a staff member at Bradford Area High School tested positive for COVID-19. According to the alert, all families who have students that have been in close contact with the staff member have been notified. They will be required to quarantine at home.
All other students will attend school today as normal. For those who were not otherwise contacted, that means students in the household were not in close contact with the individual who has tested positive for COVID-19.
Previously, a student at School Street Elementary School and a staff member were confirmed to have tested positive for COVID-19. The first staff member’s building of employment was not specified at the time the information was released.
Case counts for McKean County continue to increase, with the state Department of Health reporting that McKean County’s total confirmed cases Wednesday increased by one, to a total of 102. McKean County is currently considered to be at a moderate risk level for COVID-19.
In a video statement to parents last week, Superintendent Katy Pude noted that if the case count continues to be at a moderate risk level, the district may be required to switch to an online only method of education.
