PORT ALLEGANY — Edward Messineo scored twice to power Elk County Catholic to a 2-1 win at Port Allegany.
Messineo opened the game’s scoring 15 minutes into the game, a marker that held up into halftime for a 1-0 ECC lead.
Then, Port’s Scott Fuller tallied off an assist by Aiden Emerick nine minutes into the second half to draw the Gators (4-8-1) even. But Messineo struck once more with 13 minutes to go to secure the Crusader win.
ECC goalkeeper Ryan Jovenitti made three saves in the win. Ty Guilds had seven stops for Port Allegany.
Galeton 5, Coudersport 3
GALETON — Coudersport managed to tie it twice (at 1-1 and 2-2) and trailed by just one (4-3) late, but ultimately fell short.
Jacob Hooftallen netted a pair of penalty kick markers and assisted on a goal by Ethan Ross for the Falcons, who fell to Galeton for the second time this year (the other game being a 4-3 outcome).
Rosalyn Page made eight saves in the loss.
