Case counts for COVID-19 are increasing locally again, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Elk County rose again by 6 cases, to 111 with 2,817 negative tests. McKean County rose by 5 cases to 99, with 4,930 negative tests. Potter County rose by 1 to 41 cases, with 1,291 negative tests. Cameron County remains at 8, with 501 negative tests.
In McKean County, Bradford’s count rose to 28 confirmed and 9 probable cases. Smethport now has 8 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable cases.
Kane is at 17 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable. Eldred has 8 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable cases. Mount Jewett has had 6 confirmed cases. Lewis Run, Duke Center and Port Allegany have had 1 to 4 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable
In Elk County, St. Marys has had 34 confirmed and 7 probable cases, an increase of two cases. Johnsonburg’s count went up to 14 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable cases.
Ridgway has 16 confirmed and 10 probable. Weedville has had 10 confirmed cases. Wilcox has had 5 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable cases. Kersey and Benezette have had 1 to 4 confirmed cases. Brockport has had 1 to 4 confirmed and probable cases.
In Potter County, Roulette has had 8 confirmed cases, Coudersport, 16; Shinglehouse, 7 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable; Genesee, Austin and Ulysses, 1 to 4 confirmed; Harrison Valley, 1 to 4 confirmed and probable.
According to the health department, there were 1,103 new cases, in addition to 1,269 new cases reported on Sunday, for a two-day total of 2,372 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 183,315.
Allegheny County reported an increase of 100 cases.
The number of tests administered within the last 7 days between Oct. 12 and 18 is 233,298 with 6,870 positive cases.
There were 26 new deaths reported Sunday, and 8 new deaths reported for Monday for a total of 8,500 deaths attributed to COVID-19.
With Monday’s reporting, the number of counties with fewer than 100 cases decreased. Elk County has 111, Wyoming County has 100 and McKean County is on the cusp with 99. Cameron remains the lowest with 8, Sullivan has 16, Forest has 18, Potter has 41
Warren has 59, Fulton has 63 and McKean has 99.
