There’s a slight prediction for that frozen white stuff we all love over the weekend, but according to John Banghoff, meteorologist for the National Weather Service in State College, it isn’t time to pull out your boots and shovels just yet.
“There’s a small possibility of snow flurries starting Saturday,” he explained. “Nothing accumulating necessarily, but you could see some snow.”
With a cold front coming in today, Banghoff said the area could see rain showers in the morning, with the temperature continuing to drop throughout the day. Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low around 29 degrees.
Then get ready to bundle up Saturday morning, as it’s going to be chilly, with lows in the upper 20s. While there is a small chance of some stray snow flurries as the weekend progresses, Banghoff said it “looks like the precipitation will stay further north,” and may miss the area altogether.
Sunday will be sunny with a high near 61 degrees, while Sunday night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 38 degrees.
Going into next week, the area will begin to see temperatures in the upper 50s to mid 60s during the day, while the nights will stay in the upper 30s to lower 40s.
