SMETHPORT — A number of criminal cases moved forward this week in McKean County Court, according to court records, including two cases for a Cyclone man accused of leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase.
Westley C. Hardy, 21, of Cyclone, pleaded guilty to charges in two cases. He entered the plea in one case to a charge of fleeing or attempting to elude an officer and in the other case to a charge of possession of a controlled substance and summary charges.
Court records filed at the time of Hardy’s arrest in the fleeing case alleged that on June 23, he failed to stop the dirt bike he was operating when a police officer tried to pull him over; he drove through stop signs and at high rates of speed during the incident.
Hardy will be sentenced Nov. 5.
Also on Monday, Leland H. Baker, 36, of Kane, pleaded guilty to a charge of accidents involving death or injury while not licensed and to summary charges. Court records filed at the time of Baker’s arrest alleged that on April 17 Baker failed to stay in his lane when he was driving north on Route 321 in Wetmore Township, and he struck another vehicle head-on; two people were injured in the crash. He will be sentenced Nov. 5.
Sean M. Walker, 33, of Bradford, pleaded not contest to a charge of disorderly conduct and a summary charge. Court records filed at the time of his arrest alleged that on June 27, Walker, who was intoxicated, entered a Bradford apartment, sat on the couch and refused to leave; neither of the apartment’s tenants knew who he was. He will be sentenced Nov 5.
Pamela J. Austin, 45, of Custer City, pleaded guilty to a charge of theft by unlawful taking. She will be sentenced Nov. 5.
On Wednesday, Cameron D. Perkins, 32, of Buffalo, N.Y., was acquitted at a jury trial of a charge of firearm not to be carried without a license. He was also found not guilty of two summary charges.
On Thursday, the following people were accepted into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program: Jacob T. Kreczmer, 20, of Munhall, for DUI-alcohol and possession of drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana; Mason J.Roller, 20, of Rew, for DUI-controlled substance and possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia; Jonathan J. Sherry, 49, of Eldred, and Brandy L. Maull, 35, of Smethport, both for DUI-alcohol.
