HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania Department of Health indicated on Thursday that there were 1,598 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 177,520.
Allegheny is reporting an increase of 117 cases, Philadelphia is reporting an increase of 163 cases and Westmoreland is reporting an increase of 135 cases.
McKean County is reporting an increase of 4 cases, for a total of 84, 68 of which are confirmed and 16 of which were probable. There have been 4,816 negative tests.
Bradford has had 22 confirmed cases and 7 probable cases, Kane has had 17 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable cases. Smethport and Eldred each have had 6 confirmed cases, and 1 to 4 probable cases. Mount Jewett has had 6 confirmed cases.
Port Allegany and Duke Center have had 1 to 4 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable cases. Lewis Run, Rew and Gifford each have had 1 to 4 confirmed cases.
Potter County’s results stayed at 37 cases, and Cameron County’s at 8 cases.
Elk County is reporting an increase of two for 93 total cases, 70 of which are confirmed and 23 of which were probable. There have been 2,746 negative tests. St. Marys has had 24 confirmed cases and 7 probable cases. Ridgway has had 16 confirmed cases and 10 probable cases.
Wilcox has had 5 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable cases. Johnsonburg has had 9 confirmed cases and 1 to 4 probable cases. Weedville has had 9 confirmed cases.
Sigel and Brockport have had 1 to 4 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable cases. Benezette and Kersey have each had 1 to 4 confirmed cases.
The number of tests administered within the last 7 days between Oct. 8 and 14 is 240,220 with 9,370 positive cases. There were 33,839 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m., Oct. 14.
There are 8,432 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 21 new deaths reported. Mask-wearing is required in all businesses and whenever leaving home. Consistent mask-wearing is critical to preventing the spread of COVID-19.
There are 1,474 cases who have a positive viral antigen test and are considered probable cases and 646 patients who have a positive serology test and either COVID-19 symptoms or a high-risk exposure.
