Saturday will be a chance for area residents to get out and enjoy some fun, something that has been all too rare in a year filled with pandemic concerns.
Ridgway and Johnsonburg are both holding festivals, which combined can provide fun from dawn until dark.
Ridgway/Elk County Chamber of Commerce is holding the Ridgway Flavors of Fall Festival in downtown Ridgway.
Beginning at 9 a.m., music, vendors and sidewalk sales will be part of the excitement, along with a cruise-in for vehicle owners, allowing them to bring their show stoppers out for a spin. The unjudged show is accepting a wide variety of vehicles. Those interested in entering can do so on South Broad Street on Saturday.
The recently remodeled Dan Smith Candy store opens at 10 a.m. Saturday as well, providing visitors a chance to see the store and enjoy candy and gift item sales.
At 11 a.m., firemen’s pizza will be available at the carnival grounds. The goods are sold out already.
The Johnsonburg Community Trust is holding a Festival of Flavors from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. with local wine, beer and food available for those who attend. Live music and open fires will be part of the night’s festivities, centered around the Johnsonburg Community Center. Those who attend must be 21 or over and have a valid ID.
Some of the local businesses set to offer fare include Slice of Cake Bakery, Brick Oven Pizza, Logyard Brewing, the Winery at Wilcox, Wagon Wheel Wines, DeLong Enterprises, Bear Creek Wines, Deer Creek Winery and Inn B&B & Event Center.
