A Lewis Run man accused of assaulting his girlfriend and not letting her leave the home pleaded guilty Thursday in McKean County Court.
Joseph J. Montecalvo, 33, entered a guilty plea to charges of simple assault, false imprisonment and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer, on June 30, 2017, Montecalvo, while in an argument with his girlfriend, pushed her down intentionally, hard enough that she hit her head on the floor, which caused bruising, swelling and pain. Police were called, and when they arrived he would not let her leave. Also, police found Montecalvo to be in possession of a marijuana pipe.
Montecalvo will be sentenced Nov. 5.
Also in court, Jabar M. Kasper, 22, of Bradford, was sentenced to 30 days to six months in McKean County Jail with credit for six days of time served and one year of consecutive probation for charges in two cases. He’s charged in one case with terroristic threats and in the other with DUI-controlled substance and a summary charge. On Sept. 3, Kasper pleaded guilty in the threat case to allegations that on June 27 in Bradford City, he communicated a threat to commit a crime of violence.
Elizabeth A. Tucker, 40, of Bradford, will serve one year of probation for a charge of statement under penalty. Tucker pleaded guilty Sept. 3 to allegations that on Nov. 23, 2018, she made a written false statement on a state police application of sale form for firearms by indicating that she had not been charged with a crime that was punishable with imprisonment for more than one year.
Nathan S. Lineman, 49, of Bradford, will serve one year of probation for a charge of simple assault. Lineman pleaded guilty Sept. 3 to allegations that on May 19, he grabbed the upper torso of the victim, causing red marks and bruising.
Steven E. Swanson, 41, of Kane, will serve 90 days of incarceration and six months of probation with a period of restrictive sanctions for charges of DUI-general impairment and blood alcohol content .02 or greater second offense.
Ashlee E. Mathewson of Port Allegany will serve two days to six months in McKean County Jail for a charge of DUI-alcohol.
Frank J. Lucco, 53, of Bradford, will serve one year of probation with a term of restrictive sanctions for charges of DUI-controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and a summary charge.
Brandon L. Osborne, 36, of Kane, will serve six months of probation with a term of restrictive sanctions house arrest for charges of DUI-alcohol and a summary charge.
