EMPORIUM — The Cameron County Commissioners announced that the winners of the 2020 Census Coloring Contest have been selected.
All parents/guardians of the winners will be contacted by Commissioner James Moate in the upcoming days. Prizes will be distributed starting at 2 p.m. Oct. 10 in the upstairs conference room at the Memorial Hall. Winners may be accompanied by up to two parents/guardians.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, masks are required and social distancing practices should be maintained while in the Memorial Hall building.
Contest entries were divided into three categories: Youngest (ages 7 and under,) Middle (ages 8-10,) and Oldest (ages 11-12). The top six entrants in each category will receive a prize.
2020 Census Coloring Contest Winners in the Youngest (Ages 7 and Under) category are as follows: 1st place, William Owen; 2nd place, Brooklyn Smith; 3rd place, Torsten Callahan; 4th place, Lakin Ray; 5th place, Ellie Cook; and 6th place, James Smith.
Winners in the Middle (Ages 8-10) category are as follows: 1st place, Chloe Darr; 2nd place, Summer Pfaff; 3rd place, Anna Gralak; 4th place, Avery Ball; 5th place, Cruz Smoker; and 6th place, Zekiel Bickford.
Winners in the Oldest (Ages 11-12) category are as follows: 1st place, Madelynn Trumbull; 2nd place, Chaise Nolder; 3rd place, Ashton Yurt; 4th place, Owen Vogt; 5th place, Zaviera Bickford; and 6th place, Abbi Olivett.
Parents are to adhere to the following schedule to allow for social distancing and comply with Governor Wolf’s limitations on inside gatherings:
• 1st and 2nd place winners and parent(s): arrive at 2 p.m.
• 3rd and 4th place winners and parent(s): arrive at 2:30 p.m.
• 5th and 6th place winners and parent(s): arrive at 3 p.m.
