The positive case counts for COVID-19 rose in two local counties with Friday’s data, according to the state health department.
Elk County is up to 72 cases, with 55 confirmed and 17 probable cases, and 2,425 negative tests. Potter County’s case count rose to 28, with 1,118 negative tests.
In Elk County, St. Marys has had 19 confirmed and 6 probable cases. Ridgway has 11 confirmed and 6 probable cases. Johnsonburg has had 9 confirmed cases and 1-4 probable. Weedville has had 5 confirmed cases. Brockport, Kersey and Benezette each have had 1-4 confirmed cases. Wilcox and Sigel have had 1 to 4 confirmed and probable cases.
In Potter County, Coudersport has had 11 positive cases. Roulette and Shinglehouse each have had 5 confirmed cases. Ulysses has had 1 to 4 confirmed cases. Harrison Valley has had 1 to 4 confirmed and probable cases.
McKean County’s case count stayed the same at 57 cases, with 4,248 negative tests.
In McKean County, Kane has had 15 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable cases. Bradford has had 9 confirmed and 5 probable cases. Smethport and Mount Jewett each have had 6 confirmed cases. Lewis Run has had 1-4 confirmed cases. Duke Center has had 1-4 probable cases. Eldred and Port Allegany each have had 1-4 confirmed and probable cases.
As of Friday, statewide, there were 806 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 154,203.
The number of tests administered within the last 7 days between Sept. 18 and 24 is 184,083 with 5,474 positive cases. There were 28,701 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m., Sept. 24. These results represent the total number of tests administered.
There are 8,081 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 2 new deaths reported.
