RIDGWAY — Ridgway-based state police responded to a report of a shooting on Thursday that turned out to be a spam call.
According to police, at 4:25 p.m. Thursday, they responded to a report of a shooting on Kennedy Street in Jay Township. An unknown caller said he shot his parents and had a bomb at the residence.
The report was false and the home was not occupied at the time, police stated. They believe the number that called was a spam call originating from the state of California.
