COUDERSPORT — The Wreaths Across America’s Mobile Education Exhibit will make a tour stop in Coudersport.
The exhibit will be in Coudersport Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 3 to support the Sons of the American Legion as they support Coudersport area cemeteries while offering a chicken barbecue and a very public opportunity to honor America’s veterans and raise awareness for Wreaths Across America Day on Dec. 19. The chicken barbecue will be held from noon to 4 p.m. that day.
From noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 3, the Sons of the American Legion will be bringing the community together for a chicken barbecue to raise funds to help Coudersport area cemeteries lay remembrance wreaths for veterans. The Mobile Education Exhibit will be there as a reminder of the sacrifices made by fallen soldiers and as a reminder of the effort to lay remembrance wreaths at their headstones on Wreaths Across America Day, Dec. 19, and to offer a welcome home to veterans.
The Wreaths Across America Mobile Education Exhibit started its national tour months ago at the WAA headquarters in Maine and is now making its way to 2 Buffalo St., Coudersport, which is where the Exhibit will be located as it invites visitors to stop by. All donations and funds raised will sponsor a veteran wreath to be laid at local cemeteries.
The goal of the WAA Education Exhibit is to bring local communities and the military together with education, stories, and interactive connections.
This event is open to the public with social distancing, sanitation and COVID-19 safety procedures in place to protect the health of all visitors in accordance with the CDC’s recommendation for large gatherings stemming from concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.
