DUKE CENTER — The Otto Township Cemetery Association is purchasing two new storage sheds to house lawn mowers and other equipment at the Rixford and Duke Center cemeteries. Leveling and preparation of the sites will be done before the anticipated delivery date of Oct. 20.
Local attorney Jay Paul Kahle will assist board member David Silvis in securing the necessary status of a non-profit organization. President Sharon Schwab outlined the association’s purpose and defined the board’s numbers and terms. The association is looking for new board members willing to serve a two-year term, assisting in the re-mapping, burial procedures, and maintenance procedures for both area cemeteries. Interested parties can contact any current member or attend the next monthly meeting, 7 p.m., Oct. 15 at the Duke Center United Methodist Church.
