A Weedville man is in Elk County Jail for allegations that he failed to follow the sexual offender requirements under Megan’s Law.
Chester A. Keech Jr., 41, was arraigned Sept. 11 on one charge of failure to provide accurate registration information, a first-degree felony. He waived a preliminary hearing in the case.
Ridgway-based state police reported that Keech was found to be out of compliance at 1:25 p.m. Sept. 10 on Four Points Road in Fox Township.
Police did not say what requirement they allege that Keech failed to meet.
A formal arraignment in the Megan’s Law case is set in Elk County Court for Oct. 5 — the same date as a formal arraignment for a separate simple assault case against Keech. Keech is incarcerated in lieu of $10,000 bail.
On Feb. 2, 2015, Keech pleaded guilty to charges of corruption of minors and indecent assault of a person who is less than 16 years old, according to court records. The case docket indicates that he was classified at that time as a sexually violent predator and must register as a sex offender for his lifetime.
Court records also state that Keech pleaded guilty to a charge of rape-forcible compulsion in 2002.
